# Weekly check-ins, reviewed in a tap.

Trainaq’s client check-in app sends each client a weekly form on the day you choose, with their weight, scores, wins and progress photos. You review every check-in in one queue and reply with a one-tap reaction and a note.

Where it works: Trainaq Coach · iPhone and Android; Web dashboard; Clients check in from the free Trainaq app.

## What is Trainaq’s client check-in app?

It is the weekly check-in between you and each client. On their due day, clients answer your questions in the Trainaq app, with weight, measurements and front, side and back photos. You review every check-in in one queue, react with one tap, add a note, and the client gets a push with your reply.

- Check-ins are on every plan. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and no card is needed.
- Up to 30 questions per client, due on the weekday you pick
- Front, side and back photos, private to the client and their coaches
- A reminder push on the morning of the due day

## Why do weekly check-ins slip?

Because they run on chat. You paste the same questions every Sunday, answers trickle in across threads, photos land between other messages, and replies go out late or not at all. A form that arrives on its own, a queue that shows who is waiting and a one-tap reply keep every check-in answered.

- **Same questions, typed again.** Every week you send the same list to every client, by hand.
- **Answers scattered across chats.** Weight in one message, photos in another, how the week went in a voice note.
- **Replies fall behind.** With no list of who is waiting, someone always goes a week without hearing back.

## How do weekly check-ins work in Trainaq?

Every client starts with a default weekly form due on Sundays. Change the questions or the day for any client, and they get a reminder on the due day. Their check-in lands in your review queue with answers and photos. Pick a reaction, add a note, and they get your reply as a push.

### 1. Set the form for each client

Every client starts with Trainaq’s default check-in, due on Sundays. Change the day, edit, reorder or add questions, or turn check-ins off, client by client, in Trainaq Coach or on the web.

- Up to 30 questions of the same types as the intake form
- Reset to the default set at any time
- On the web, copy a saved form to other clients in one go

### 2. Clients check in from the app

On the due day the client gets a push at 9 am and a check-in card on Today and Progress. They answer on one page, add front, side and back photos if they like, and send. They can check in early too.

- Weight and measurements in their own units
- Photos lose their location data before upload
- Past check-ins and your replies stay on their Progress screen
- Screen: Trainaq client app: the Progress screen with this week's check-in done, a prompt to connect Apple Health, the weight trend and steps

### 3. Review them in one queue

Check-ins waiting for you are listed oldest first, with the client, the week, their weight and photos. Open one to read the answers by section, in your business’s units.

- A push when a client sends one
- Reviewed check-ins from the last 60 days in a second tab
- On the web: J and K to move, and the next one opens after each review
- Screen: Trainaq Coach app: the check-ins waiting for review, one per client for the week of 11 Oct 2026, with questions answered and body weight

### 4. Reply in one tap

Pick Great work, Keep going, Let’s talk or Noted, add a note of your own if you want, and send. The client gets a push and reads your reply with their check-in.

- Each reaction comes with a short message for the client
- Review again to change your reply
- Notes of up to 2,000 characters

## What is in a Trainaq check-in?

- **A ready-made form.** Weight, waist, how the week went, four 1–10 scores, adherence and three open questions.
- **A form per client.** Up to 30 questions and its own due weekday, or check-ins turned off.
- **Copy a form to others.** On the web, copy one client’s saved form to the clients you pick.
- **Eight question types.** Text, single and multiple choice, number, yes or no, date and measurement.

## How do coaches use weekly check-ins?

Online coaches run their whole week around the review queue. Personal trainers use a short check-in for the days between sessions. Nutritionists ask about hunger, cravings and how closely clients followed the plan, and studios give each lead coach a queue of their own clients. Clients check in from the same free app.

### Online coaches: A week built around the queue

Check-ins arrive on each client’s due day, and the queue shows who is waiting. Review them in one sitting on the web, moving from one to the next with the keyboard.

- The next check-in opens after each review
- Photos and weight beside the answers
- Food log and workouts on the same profile

### Personal trainers: A short form between sessions

Cut the form to weight, energy and one open question for clients you see in person, and use the answers to plan the next session.

- Edit or remove any default question
- Any weekday as the due day
- Turn check-ins off for clients who don’t need them

### Nutritionists: Hunger, cravings and adherence

The default form already scores hunger and cravings and asks how closely the client followed their nutrition. Add your own questions about digestion, water or eating out.

- Weight and waist every week
- Nutrition adherence in four bands
- Food log and targets on the same profile

### Studios and gyms: Each coach reviews their own clients

A check-in goes to the coaches who manage that client, so each coach reviews their own members’ check-ins in their own queue.

- A push to the client’s coaches when one arrives
- Each client’s lead coach set by the owner
- The same queue in the app and on the web

## What questions should an online coaching check-in include?

Start with what you can measure, then what you can’t. Trainaq’s default asks for weight and waist, how the week went, energy, sleep quality, stress and hunger on a 1 to 10 scale, how closely workouts and nutrition went to plan, wins, what was hard, and anything the coach should know.

- Weight this week (required) and waist at the navel
- How was your week? Great, Good, Okay or Tough
- Energy, sleep quality, stress, and hunger and cravings, each out of 10
- Workouts done as planned, and how closely nutrition was followed
- Wins this week, what was hard, and anything your coach should know

## How often should online coaching clients check in?

Weekly suits most online coaching, and that is how Trainaq schedules it: one due weekday per client, with a push that morning. Clients can check in early, this week’s check-in shows as due until they send it, and you can turn check-ins off for a client who doesn’t need them.

## FAQ

### Can each client have a different check-in form?

Yes. Every client starts with Trainaq’s default questions, and you can change any client’s form on its own: add, edit, reorder or remove questions, up to 30, and pick the weekday it is due. On the web dashboard you can copy a saved form to other clients in one go.

### How many photos can clients add to a check-in?

Three: a front, a side and a back photo, each optional. The app shrinks each photo and drops its location data before upload, and only the client and the coaches who manage them can see it. The photos also join the client’s progress photos, grouped by day.

### Do clients get reminded to check in?

Yes. On the due day the client gets a push at 9 am if that week’s check-in isn’t in, and a check-in card on their Today and Progress screens until they send it. Clients can turn the reminder off in their notification settings, and quiet hours delay it.

### What are the one-tap reactions?

Great work, Keep going, Let’s talk and Noted. Each sends the client a short message, such as “Good week. Keep going, you are on track.”, and you can add your own note to it. The client gets a push, and can read your reply with their check-in.

### Can I review check-ins on a computer?

Yes. The web dashboard at app.trainaq.com has the same queue beside the open check-in, with J and K or the arrow keys to move between them, and it opens the next waiting one after each review. You can also edit every client’s check-in form there.

### Where do clients see my reply?

On their Progress screen in the Trainaq app. The check-in card shows your reply once you review it, and past check-ins stay listed with the week, their weight and whether you replied. Opening one shows your reaction, your note, their answers and their photos.

### Which plans include check-ins?

Weekly check-ins, progress photos and measurements are on every plan, together with chat and the free client app. Plans differ by how many active clients you coach and how many coach accounts you need. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and no card is needed.
