Trainerize prices its Pro plans by client seats: on monthly billing, Pro 15 is $50, Pro 50 is $135 and Pro 200 is $250 a month, before add-ons and taxes (Trainerize's pricing page, checked 16 Oct 2026). Our recommended choice is Trainaq: it costs less than Trainerize at 10, 50 and 200 clients, the client app is free for clients, and every plan starts with a free trial and no card.

Below you get the dated Trainerize table, what the add-ons mean for your total, a method to work out your own bill, and a side-by-side on what coaches look at when they switch. Trainaq's own prices live on the [pricing page](https://trainaq.com/pricing), so this post does not repeat them.

## How much does Trainerize cost per month?

| Plan (monthly billing) | Client seats | Trainer seats | Monthly price |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Pro 15 | Up to 15 | Up to 1 | $50 |

### What about annual billing?

Trainerize's pricing page opens on annual billing, where Pro 15 shows $45 a month billed annually. The table above uses monthly billing, so you can compare plans on the same basis. If you plan to pay yearly, read the annual figure for your tier on Trainerize's page the day you buy.

## Does Trainerize charge per client?

In effect, yes. Trainerize sells Pro plans in tiers of client seats, so your price steps up when your client count passes a tier limit. Pro 15 has up to 15 client seats, Pro 50 up to 50 and Pro 200 up to 200 (Trainerize's pricing page, checked 16 Oct 2026).

Two things follow from this:

- A coach with 16 clients moves from the first tier to the second, so a few extra clients can change the bill noticeably.
- Trainer seats are capped per tier too: 1, 3 and 5 for the three plans. A growing team may reach that cap before the client cap.

## What are the Trainerize add-ons, and what do they do to your total?

Trainerize's pricing page lists four paid add-ons on its Grow and Pro plans: Advanced Nutrition Coaching, Stripe Integrated Payments, Business and Video Coaching. They are not in the compared prices above. The page does not say that any of them is required, so your real total depends on which ones you choose.

### How to work out your own total

1. Count your active clients today and the number you expect in six months.
2. Pick the cheapest tier whose client seats cover the larger of the two.
3. Check the trainer seats: do you or your team need more than the tier allows?
4. List the jobs you need an app to do: nutrition coaching, taking payments, video coaching, running a business side.
5. Check Trainerize's pricing page the same day for the add-on price of each job you listed, and add them to the monthly plan price.
6. Add taxes where they apply.
7. Do the same for every other app on your shortlist, then compare the totals, not the headline prices.

## Is Trainerize free?

The prices compared here are for Trainerize's paid Pro plans. This post does not state whether Trainerize offers any free option, because the pages used here do not cover it. Check Trainerize's own pricing page, which is the only reliable source, before you plan around a free tier.

If free matters to you, there are two separate questions: is the coach's software free, and is the client's app free? With Trainaq, the client app is free for clients, and every Trainaq plan starts with a free trial with no card needed. Plan prices and plan limits are on the [Trainaq pricing page](https://trainaq.com/pricing).

## How does Trainaq cost compare with Trainerize at 10, 50 and 200 clients?

Trainaq costs less than Trainerize at every client count compared: 10, 50 and 200 active clients, billed monthly, before add-ons and taxes. On Trainaq's comparison page, the plan of each app that covers that many clients is used, with Trainerize's figures taken from its own pricing page on 16 Oct 2026.

| Active clients | Trainerize plan that covers them | Trainerize monthly price | Trainaq |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 10 | Pro 15 | $50 | Costs less |

Trainaq also costs less than Everfit and TrueCoach at the client counts on Trainaq's comparison pages. You can see every comparison on the [compare page](https://trainaq.com/compare), and read a wider roundup in [Everfit pricing and five other coaching apps compared](https://trainaq.com/blog/everfit-pricing-coaching-software-compared).

Price is only part of the picture. Features differ between apps, so check what each plan includes, not just the monthly figure.

## Why do coaches switch to Trainaq?

Coaches who move to Trainaq tend to look at what they get per dollar. These are the live features that matter most when comparing apps.

| What you get | Trainaq |
| --- | --- |
| Client app | Free for clients, on iPhone and Android; clients join through their coach's invite link |
| Free trial | Every plan starts with a free trial, no card needed |
| AI food photo logging | On every plan: a client photographs a meal, AI lists each food with an estimated weight, Trainaq matches it to its food library for calories and macros, and the client checks it before logging |
| Exercise demos | 550+ 3D exercise demo videos made by Trainaq, in the workout builder and in the client app |
| AI drafts | On the web dashboard, AI drafts workouts, multi-week programs and weekly meal plans; nothing reaches a client until the coach reviews and assigns it |
| Habits | Daily habits such as water, steps and sleep, with streaks; the coach sees adherence over 7 and 28 days |
| Reminders | Sessions and classes 24 hours and 1 hour before, check-ins on the day due, habits at the client's chosen time, memberships 7, 3 and 1 days before they end |
| Money | Payments and dues tracked in one place; cash and part payments are tracked as dues |

See how the food feature works on the [AI food photos page](https://trainaq.com/features/ai-food-photo).

### What does the client get?

The free Trainaq client app shows today's workout with demo videos and calorie and macro targets. Clients log food by photo, search or barcode, tick off habits, complete check-ins, add progress photos and measurements, and chat with their coach. They can book classes and sessions, and workouts, food logs and habit ticks save offline and sync later. Steps, sleep and heart rate come from Apple Health or Health Connect. Read more on the [client app page](https://trainaq.com/products/client-app).

## Which kind of app do you actually need?

A coaching app is software a coach uses to run clients: programs, nutrition, check-ins, chat, sessions and payments. A consumer workout app is something a person uses on their own, often in place of a coach. If you coach people, you need the first kind. Compare only coaching apps with each other, since a consumer app solves a different problem and will not hold your clients, plans and payments.

When you shortlist coaching apps, use this checklist:

- Is the total price clear at your current and target client counts, including add-ons?
- Do clients pay anything to use the app?
- Can you trial it without entering a card?
- Does it include food logging that saves clients typing?
- Are the exercise demos good enough that you do not film your own?
- Does it send reminders for you, so you stop chasing clients?
